Absorption
Fisetin has poor water solubility and low oral bioavailability. Taking with a fat source may improve absorption. Intermittent high-dose protocols (rather than daily low doses) are used in clinical trials.
Daily Dose
Common dose: 100-500 mg/day
RDA: No established RDA
Upper limit: No established; up to 500 mg/day for one week tolerated
Best form: Fisetin powder in capsules; lipid-based formulations may improve absorption
Timing: With a fat-containing meal; senolytic protocols use intermittent dosing
Human evidence very limited. Only pilot study (n=10) showed mixed results. Average dietary intake ~0.4 mg/day.
